THE SOFT EXHALE

BRAND IN BLOOM | TANYA - NATUROPATH

An Essence Branding Shoot for Women’s Health Practitioner Tanya Edwards

There’s something powerful about women who dedicate their lives to helping other women feel better in their bodies.

More grounded.

More nourished.

More themselves.

That was exactly the energy behind this beautiful lifestyle branding shoot with Performance in Health founder and naturopath Tanya Edwards.

We created these images around four years ago now, but honestly? They still feel timeless to me. And I think that’s because the intention behind the shoot was never trend-based. It was essence-based.

Tanya’s work centres around supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, stress, burnout, hormone health and whole-body wellbeing. (Performance in Health)
Not through fear or extremes, but through education, nourishment, nervous system support and genuine care.

And I wanted the imagery to reflect exactly that.

Not “clinical wellness”.
Not stock-photo perfection.
Real warmth. Real softness. Real life.

The kind of branding photography that makes you feel something.

The Vision Behind the Shoot

Before we ever picked up the camera, we worked through wardrobe styling and creative direction to create a world that felt deeply aligned with Tanya’s brand.

Her palette leaned into earthy greens, warm neutrals, natural textures and organic tones that reflected health, grounding and femininity without becoming overly “boho wellness”.

Everything was intentional.

The location in Moss Vale gave us the perfect backdrop because it already carried the feeling we were trying to create: calm, nature, space to breathe.

Instead of overly posed branding imagery, we built scenes around the rhythms of Tanya’s actual world and the women she supports.

A quiet moment reading about medicinal plants.

Fresh produce gathered from the garden.

A warm knit jumper and gumboots on the porch.

Soft natural light spilling through windows.

These details matter because branding photography isn’t really about photos.

It’s about emotional recognition.

It’s about creating imagery where the right client instantly thinks:

“She understands me.”

And particularly for women in midlife, that feeling matters deeply.

Branding Photography Should Feel Like an Entry into your World

One of the things I love most about lifestyle branding shoots is the opportunity to create a story instead of just a collection of portraits.

Anyone can take a headshot.

But creating a fully realised visual identity?
That’s different.

That’s creative direction.

That’s understanding colour psychology, styling, mood, texture, environment, body language, storytelling and emotional resonance all at once.

For Tanya’s shoot, I wanted the imagery to feel nurturing, intelligent, feminine and quietly luxurious.

Not luxury in the designer-label sense.

Luxury in the exhale sense.

The feeling of being cared for.

The feeling of finally slowing down enough to hear yourself again.

Which, honestly, is exactly what so many women in this stage of life are craving.

The Power of Aligned Imagery

Looking back on this shoot now, I think what stands out most is how aligned it still feels to Tanya’s work today.

That’s always the goal.

Good branding photography shouldn’t just make someone look beautiful.

It should visually communicate who they are, what they value, and how they make people feel.

And Tanya does that beautifully through her work supporting women navigating perimenopause, menopause and holistic health challenges with compassion and evidence-based naturopathic care. (Performance in Health)

This is the kind of work I love creating.

Not just “content”.

But images that hold the essence of a brand.

The softness.
The wisdom.
The integrity.
The heart.

And perhaps most importantly…

The permission for women to show up and be who they are.

Because midlife visibility doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
